 Session Overview

Join Dr. David Bates, Senior Vice President for Quality and Safety at Brigham and Women's Hospital, one of our nation's leading experts in the field of medication management, for a presentation on the frequency, severity, cost, and potential improvement impact for Adverse Drug Events. Dr. Bates will also address the critical issues of health information technology adoption, CPOE, and opportunities for improvement including a global perspective. The critical issues for CEOs, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and consumers will be presented. Following the presentation, Dr. Bates will be joined by a blue-ribbon panel of quality and patient safety experts, including Dr. David Classen, Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Pascal Metrics; Linda Groah, CEO/Executive Director of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN); Brian Robson, Board Executive Clinical Director for Healthcare Improvement Scotland; and Regina Holliday, a Washington, DC-based patient rights arts advocate for a round-table discussion on the critical issues of medication management.
